Daly City to South San Francisco This is a design/build project that starts in Daly City, passes through the City of Brisbane and ends in the City of South San Francisco. Underground Construction was enlisted to design, permit and construct this joint build project. The project is approximately 28,000 feet in length and will be constructed in two phases. The area adjacent to San Bruno Mountain is within the construction limits of a City of South San Francisco project. The work in this area will be performed in late 2000. The remaining section of work should be completed by the end of May this year. This project is under the watchful eyes of Ben Lyon, Project Manager and Larry Yamamoto, Project Superintendent. |
San Bruno to Mountain View
The project is 26.5 miles in length and passes through San Bruno, Burlingame, Belmont, San Carlos, San Mateo, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Mountain View. Twenty-five miles of the route will be constructed on El Camino Real, with the remaining 1.5 miles on streets within the City of San Bruno. We currently have 14 Underground and subcontract crews working day and night. This project is under the direction of Chris Ronco, Project Manager; Andrew McManus and Jerred Peebles, Project Engineers; Mike Carlton, Project Superintendent; Bob Roberts and Jeff Smith, Superintendents; Rick Martin, Rafael Saavedra, Jesus Garcia, Alfonso Ochoa and Rick Acosta, Project Foremen. Oakland to San Jose Underground Construction Co., Inc. was selected in March of 1999 to construct a new facility that will connect their hub sites in Oakland, Hayward, and San Jose to the Iron Horse Trail at Niles Canyon in Fremont. This project is approximately 58 miles in length and traverses through the cities of San Leandro, Hayward, Union City, Fremont, Milpitas, San Jose, and the county of Alameda. At the height of |
construction, there were 11 drilling crews and two trenching crews performing work. The last of the permits needed to complete this project are anticipated in the near future. This project should be complete by the end of June. City of San Francisco Our presence in San Francisco continues, as we currently have three crews working on a 1.6-mile mini-ring in the downtown financial district and various smaller projects. Last year we completed over 9 miles of trench in downtown San Francisco for various clients. |
