As the Equipment Division Supervisor, Chris oversees the maintenance and repair of all of Underground’s equipment, ranging from small two-stroke engines to 28-ton cranes.
“...by supervising 35,652 man-hours without a lost time injury, Chris York is the winner of the 32nd Annual Trenchjack Award.”
Chris will receive a package vacation, or an equivalent cash prize. Mitch Sweet was the first runner-up with 32,028 man-hours. The second runner-up, Jeff Smith, came in with 25,652 man-hours, and with 23,619 man-hours, George Albright was the third runner-up. As a sign of appreciation for their outstanding efforts, cash prizes were awarded from $400 to $600. Forty-one other supervisors were recognized as winners with prizes ranging from $100 to $300.
Chris would like to thank the entire Equipment Division. He believes that “these are the people who are making it safe to work in Benicia.”
