Great
weather, good food, a solid golf course and of course, valued employees, clients and
vendors all contributed to another successful Underground Invitational. With just over 80
players and more than 90 enjoying dinner, this year's event retained the relaxed, intimate
atmosphere that has become the trademark of Underground golf events.
A new format, known to some as a "Texas
Scramble" or " Shamble," was used this year combining the advantages of
team play and individual challenge. With most reviews being favorable, it looks like the
new format is good for at least another year.
After recognition of the days' champions it
was on to the raffle. From spirits to apparel, golf equipment to electronics, wide arrays
of gifts were available to the lucky participants.
Special thanks to the Napa Valley Country
Club and staff, Underground staff and Underground President Lynn Barr for another
outstanding event.
