Lynn Barr 2000 Has Been a A Banner Year The year 2000 has been a record setting year for Underground. Your company will build projects worth well over $100 million dollars this year. That's an unparalleled achievement in our 65-year history. Our Communications customers are racing to meet the demands of the public for more Internet access and our Airport customers are rushing to meet the needs of the traveling public. We have also been active in the Electric Distribution and District Energy construction markets. Everyone working for the Company has made this successful year possible. You all put out an extraordinary effort to meet our customers' needs. I also want to recognize our suppliers and subcontractors whose contribution was invaluable. They really performed for us. This year, the Associated General Contractors recognized the Company as among the three safest construction companies in California. Our accident statistics are excellent, both our incident rate and our EMR are much better than industry standards. Never the less, we had a serious accident. This tragedy affects all Undergrounders and underscores our policy of making safety our number one priority. "Everyone working for the Company has made this successful year possible." By all indications, 2001 will be another great year for the economy and the Company. Our customers are indicating that they will have lots of activity. We are anticipating that demand from them will be strong into the foreseeable future. This will continue to create opportunities for our people. I urge all of you to take advantage of the training that the Company offers each week, because it will prepare you for the future.
