Don't forget! Any time you have a new dependent, you must add them to your insurance policies within 31 days! Otherwise, the insurance company could deny their coverage until the next open enrollment period. Just let me know, and I will send you a form to add that new baby or spouse! We would also like you to send us a picture of your new baby for the next company newsletter.
Another important thing to remember is to keep your mailing address updated. You can change your address with Blue Shield by calling Member Services at (800) 424-6521, and you must also contact my office to update your personal record. You don't want to miss out on any valuable information.
If you or your family have a true emergency and require the services of the emergency room, be sure to call your Primary Care Physician or Blue Shield within 24 hours of your visit or as soon as it is medically possible. This could prevent problems with insurance payments. If your medical need is urgent but not a true emergency, call your Primary Care Physician for direction.
