We have completed our first year of our five-year fueling project for
American Airlines at the Miami International Airport. During the past year
we successfully completed: fabricating and installing two large underground
concrete isolation control vaults, laying 2500 lineal feet of double wall
jet fuel pipe, installing numerous hydrant fuel pits, and abandoning hundreds
of lineal feet of antiquated single wall jet fuel pipe.
In spite of the extremely tight and difficult task of working within
the airside operations area of an extremely busy international airport,
our crews were able to finish the assigned tasks both on schedule and under
budget. Most importantly, through the diligent efforts of our superintendent,
Nick Cunningham, and his entire crew, we completed our |
first year with a perfect safety record. Congratulations to the entire
crew, and keep up the good work.
As the Project Manager, and along with our entire crew, we are all looking
forward to the new challenges facing us in the upcoming year. The volume
of work is expected to increase significantly as the North Terminal Development
Project swings into its most critical phase. American Airlines construction
of the new "D Extension Terminal" poses numerous challenges and
opportunities for our crews as they continue their work on the new hydrant
fueling system. We expect to continue the Underground tradition of providing
the owner with the safest and most reliable crews constructing the best
possible finished product. |
