Caution: Challenges Ahead

I'm always amazed by the truth of the well-known saying, "The more things change, and the more they stay the same". This year, everything in the Telecommunications sector of our business has changed. Customers are no longer knocking each other over to get to the market first as they had done in the past.

Their business philosophy has reverted to measured investment in facilities that can immediately produce income rather than speculative building programs followed by sales. The pace of investment has slowed dramatically as the Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC's) struggle to pay their bills and remain in business. Some will make it and some won't. That puts our Broadband group in the position of carefully qualifying potential customers that have jobs, looking for innovative ways to do the work and aggressively managing our accounts receivables. Even with these measures we will have excess capacity in the sector.

We are placing strong emphasis on replacing lowered volume in our Broadband group with work for our Aircraft Fueling, Industrial and District Energy customers. Coincidentally, these markets have been slow over the past few years but now they have become more active. We will also pursue opportunities to perform Civil and Mechanical work for our Heavy Construction clients in the Power Generation Field.

"We will maintain our core values of Safety, Quality, Value and Service to our Customers."

The company has maintained working relationships with Customers in diverse fields in order to provide balance and continuing good work to our employees. We have successfully done this through several business cycles during my tenure with the company.

We will maintain our core values of Safety, Quality, Value and Service to our Customers. We will look for ways to give our Customers the benefit of our experience and expertise to get their jobs done so that they can use what we build to add value to THEIR COMPANY.

In other words, things are the same, as always, we have to find work, be competitive, provide good service and make our customers money so that they will call upon us again.
